Aalto University

Department of Chemistry and Material Science of the Aalto University opens

two PhD level positions in the field of Electrocatalysis.

The positions are focused on development, characterization and implementation of advanced catalysts for electrochemical oxygen evolution and CO2 reduction. For one of the position particular attention will be paid to atomic layer deposition (ALD) approach and other relevant methods in synthesis of well-defined catalyst surfaces and their structural and electrochemical characterization. For the other position focus is on chemical engineering as well as structural and electrochemical characterization methods. Successful candidates must hold a M.Sc. degree (or an equivalent) in Chemistry, Material Science or related field*, must be in the first 4 years of his/her research carrier and meet the mobility eligibility criteria as outlined by the Marie Curie ITN rules**.   Hands on experience in advanced synthesis, structural characterization techniques (TEM, SEM, Raman, XRD, etc.) or electrochemistry is an advantage. Good command of English is mandatory. Positions are available from September 2017.
